Why? I’ve lost count how many times someone has asked me that during this process. But I understand. Afterall, why, having spent 10 long years establishing my name in the wedding industry, would I choose to change identity,? Wouldn’t it be akin to beginning all over again?
Yes. And that perhaps is the point.
My view is not one of reinvention so much as renewal. I’ve learnt so much in the last 5 years both as a photographer and as a service provider. Many of these business lessons were made by making mistakes. However it’s been an incredible journey so far and has provided me with some amazing opportunities. Going forward I’m hoping to consolidate rather than stagnate, to grow rather than stand still. In the near future I’d like to bring on board some amazingly talented young photographers to work alongside me. And I don’t think it would be fair to have them working under my name. So a name change was necessary, but it was also a great opportunity to reassess what I was doing and how I was doing it. All of which has lead to me establishing Anchor & Hope. It’s a new path forward and the journey begins now.
